“MY HOME AIR CONDITIONING IS NOT COOLING...”

• Check your AC filter(s) and replace them if they are dirty and blocking adequate airflow. The size should be on the filter, and you can purchase them at your local home improvement stores. Buy a couple of them so you have a replacement.
• Check the breaker marked “AC” at your electrical panel and if it is “tripped”, reset it.
• Your thermostat may need new batteries or may need to be replaced if it’s old.

“I HAVE WATER LEAKING FROM MY HVAC AIR CONDITIONING UNIT”

• The condensate drain may be “clogged” with sediment.  If the PVC drain has a “T” and a vent or opening you can try to clear it if you have access in your garage or closet.
• If your indoor unit (furnace/air handler) is in the attic it may be harder to get to the condensate drain.
• If there is a sizeable amount of water coming from your AC unit turn it off. Prevent water damage!

“MY air conditioning SYSTEM IS FROZEN OR ICED-UP”

• This may also be a result of a filter being dirty which blocks airflow. Turn off your AC and let the system “thaw.”  Replace the filter.
• If your indoor unit (furnace/air handler) is in the attic it may be harder to get to the condensate drain.
• It may be low on refrigerant or may have too much refrigerant.  Checking and altering refrigerant levels should be performed by an HVAC Technician that carries the EPA 608 Certification.  Specific tools and expertise will ensure proper “charging” and operation of your AC system.
